// Statement
I use photography to make visible a torment, an imperceptible handicap. By making appear or disappear the body or parts of the body in the frame, I want to show a fight with the emptiness, the brutality of the imposed and invisible limits.
The enigma and the frightening maturity of the work of Francesca WOODMAN influenced me, and my constant need of introspection pushed me to crawl towards the frame to put myself in scene, and push my body to the test.
In my recent work done indoors, the walls are quite present. They show the sudden and forced confinement (by a prison life, a complicated administrative situation, exile, ...). I use geometric shapes, materials, and compositions to describe an atmosphere, or to reveal a psychological state. I bring in ordinary objects that interact with the body and create a narration.
My approach has led me, these days, to go exploring the outside world. I want to go through places that have already seen the lost man pass by.
